“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4 NIV).

Where are you placing your trust? I feel like this year, a lot of us have lost sight of the fact that our trust should solely be on Jesus. Maybe you’re placing your trust in the media. Maybe it’s in the government.

Maybe it’s in a mask.

(This is solely my perspective). I feel as though many believers have lost sight of the fact that our hope should rest in eternity. When it comes to spending time with loved ones, ministry, etc, we have a command from the Lord to continue to continue to share the gospel whatever the circumstances.

I have struggled with this a lot this year. As a new mom, I am tired anyways. Mix in all of the other things I deal with on a daily basis (seizure meds, etc), a worldwide pandemic, the idea of wearing masks everywhere I go, quarantine for showing symptoms when we have to get tested, the list goes on.

This year has been hard on all of us. We’re all worn out. But we have to trust the God remains in control regardless of what is happening.

The people of Israel were stranded in the wilderness for 40 years.

I’m gonna be honest, this feels like our wondering in the wilderness. What are we supposed to do? We are commanded to do ministry, to meet together. But no one wants the backlash, either.

“The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything” (Deuteronomy 2:7 NIV).

Regardless, we know that God will provide for us and is with us throughout every step.
